An International Focus
dg.o 2007 is attracting attendees from as far away as China and South Korea. Jiajun Ning, Chief Engineer, State Information Center along with two colleagues, Min Zhou, Deputy Director, Department of Public Technology Service and Shiyang Yu, Division Chief, Strategic Research, all from Beijing, will be traveling to Philadelphia to learn what other governments have experienced in practicing e-government and to meet potential partners for collaboration.
Mr. Yu, pictured at left, who took part in drafting the 5-year informatization, e-commerce and e-government plan for China for 2006-2010, says, "During the drafting of these documents, many officials and specialists became interested in knowing more about what was happening outside of China." dg.o2007 is an opportunity for China to keep pace with developments in other countries and to share ideas with participants who have experience in e-government.
Issues of international interest will be addressed by a number of panels at the conference including:
- International Developments in Digital Government: Research Perspective
- Building a Sustainable International Digital Government Research Community
- Benchmarking and Measuring Digital Government: Lessons from the EU Experience.
Through workshops, panels, and plenary discussions, dg.o 2007 provides ample opportunity for attendees to connect with other researchers and government manages from around the world to share ideas, methodologies and concerns, and to find opportunities for collaboration.
